Volunteer with us
Consistency beats credentials. A volunteer who comes every week for a year is worth more to us than a specialist who comes twice.
Roles
What we actually need
If none of these fit but you want to help, write to us anyway — tell us what you can do and how often.
Tutor
[[e.g. 2 hours weekly, term-time]]
After-school study support, especially maths and English. Consistency matters far more than credentials — a tutor who comes every week for a year beats a specialist who comes twice.
Doctor or nurse
[[e.g. one visit monthly]]
Routine health checks for residents, and advice on when something needs a hospital. If you are a practising medical professional, this is the volunteering we are shortest of.
Driver / delivery
[[e.g. one day monthly]]
Ration-kit delivery rounds. Unglamorous, physical, and the reason food actually reaches a household on the date we promised.
Kitchen help
[[e.g. flexible]]
Cooking and packing on meal days. No experience needed; you will be shown.
Trainer or employer
[[e.g. by arrangement]]
Teach a vocational skill, or offer our trainees a real interview. The training only counts if it ends in work, and employers willing to interview are the bottleneck.
Books and admin
[[e.g. remote, flexible]]
Accounting, compliance, and record-keeping. Deeply unfashionable, and the thing that lets us answer a donor's question with a number instead of a shrug.
